Here is a list of a few simple tips that could help prevent vehicle theft:

Don’t Leave Your Keys in The Car.  This may sound pretty straight-forward, however, ensuring you always leave your keys in your house and not your vehicle can go a long way in preventing vehicle theft.  Keep your spare keys away from your vehicle too and avoid storing them under the wheel-well.

Hide Your Valuables.  Don’t make your vehicle an attractive magnet of attention for would-be thefts.  Avoid leaving items such as purses, phones, iPad, computer, cash and other valuables, out in plain sight.  Hide these articles under your seat or in your trunk if you need to leave them in your vehicle.

Don’t Leave Your Car Running Unattended.  What better way for a thief to steal your car then walk up, open the doors and drive away in an already running vehicle!  Avoid this predicament by ensuring you always turn your vehicle off when unattended.

Alarm Your Vehicle.  Most new vehicles come with a stock alarm system.  If your vehicle does not have an alarm system, consider having one installed and/or invest in a physical antitheft device. Some insurance companies offer discounts for vehicles that have an antitheft device.

Park Intelligently.  Choose well-lit areas as opposed to the ends of a dark alley when parking your vehicle.  If you park in a parking garage, look for the security cameras or the attendant and park your vehicle nearby.  Vehicles that can’t be seen are less likely to get stolen, so if you have a garage choose to park your car inside.

Lock Your Doors.  Ensure your car doors and windows are locked at all times.
